One of the objective of GAB is to become financially self-sufficient based on the revenue from accreditation services provided by GAB. Till such time Gulf Organization for Research and Development (GORD), that has been instrumental in promoting and establishing GAB, has committed to financially support GAB. This support is in terms of financial as well as providing administrative services to GAB till it becomes self-sufficient.

GAB is the only accreditation body of Qatar and is mandated by the registration regulations of Qatar to provide accreditation services for third party certification, inspection, testing, validation and verification etc. in accordance with international standards.
